Art is not your feelings.
Art is substance wrought by passionate inspiration and shrewd analysis.
The artist has a duty to himself,
to fulfill his vision.
The artist has a duty to his audience,
not to set them upon frivolity.
The writer, more specifically, has a duty to his readers,
not to waste their time
These dual duties to the artist and the audience are in fact
a single thing.
Don’t waste their time.

BUT
